TURNOVER OF THE 129 PATIENT TRANSPORT VEHICLES (PTV) TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUs) BY THE PHILIPPINE CHARITY SWEEPSTAKES OFFICE (PCSO)
Background
The main government agency responsible for raising and providing funds for health
programs, medical assistance, and national charities, as outlined in Republic Act No.1169 (as amended by Batas Pambansa Blg. 42 and Presidential Decree No. 1157).

PCSO Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP)
- PCSO began distributing ambulance units in the 1990s.
- The Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP) was launched in 2019 to enhance healthcare delivery.
- The program provides medical transport vehicles (PTVs), Type II Advanced Life
Support Ambulances, and Sea Ambulances to local government units (LGUs), focusing on underserved regions.
- It aims to ensure safe and timely transport of patients in government-run hospitals.
- Between 30 June 2022 and 8 September 2024, 227 LGUs (excluding Metro Manila)
received PTVs.
- A budget of PhP2.2 billion has been set for 2024 to acquire 1,000 PTV units, covering all cities and municipalities nationwide.
- On 10 September 2024, PTVs will be handed over to 129 municipalities in CAR and Regions II, III, IV-A, IV-B, and V.

SUPREME COURT STRIKES DOWN PROCLAMATION NO. 572 THAT REVOKED OF AMNESTY OF TRILLANES

In G.R. Nos. 241494, 256660 & 256078 (Sen. Antonio “Sonny” F. Trillanes IV v. Hon. Salvador C. Medialdea, et al; People of the Philippines v. Antonio F. Trillanes IV, People of the Philippines v. Antonio F. Trillanes IV), the Supreme Court En Banc ruled that the Amnesty Granted To Former Senator Antonio F. Trillanes Iv (Trillanes) Is Valid And That Its Revocation Through Proclamation No. 572, Issued By Former President Rodrigo R. Duterte, Is Unconstitutional. The Court, speaking through Associate Justice Maria Filomena D. Singh, ruled that a President cannot revoke a grant of amnesty without concurrence from Congress.  The Court also grounded its ruling on the primacy of the  Bill of Rights  and reaffirmed that neither the Government nor any of its officials, including the President, are above the law.   (This only goes to show that Duterte is Unknowledgeable in our laws! UPDATES! DTI reports P4 Trillion or US$72.178-B consolidated, processed investments resulting from PBBM’s foreign trips

The trade department reported P4.019 trillion (based on Dec. 22 BSP rate) or US$72.178 billion worth of investments in various investment stages as a result of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s foreign visits. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said the P4 trillion investment value is comprised of 148 projects, according to its December 21, 2023 monitoring of consolidated and processed investments. The DTI described those investments as business, investment promotion agency (IPA) registered with operations (US$205.53M or P11.4B), Business/IPA registered (US$983.21M or P54.75B) IPA registration in progress operations (US$5.079B or P282.8B), signed agreement with clear financial project value (US$9.771B or P544.152B), signed memorandum of understanding/letter of intent (MOU/LOI) (US$28.529B or P1.588T) and confirmed investment not covered by MOUs/LOIs and still in the planning stage (US$27.345B or P1.522T).
